Hello, CAMPers!

Hope your week is off to a great start. I wanted to share some of the photos from my recent visit to Uganda so you could have an boots-on-the-ground view of how the project is going. I was brought to tears more than once to see the progress and potential. Thanks to everyone in the CAMP community for helping to make it happen. Here are some pics from the morning the whole thing started as we set out to drive from Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park.

CAMP photos from Uganda: Bonus video and the part that made me weep

CAMP photos from Uganda: Bonus video and the part that made me weep

While we were at MJS picking mushrooms and taking photos, Mukasa also shot a video. You’ll see I didn’t realize it at first; I was waiting for the flash, but when I finally caught on, I said a few impromptu (and somewhat awkward) words. Oh well. I hope you can tell from the look on my face that I was over-the-moon happy.

After the video was filmed, Nellie shared how happy she was to have the…

Hello, CAMPers!

We have an important update to share with friends and supporters of the Compassion in Action Mushroom Project. Ready?

The first round of CAMP participants have completed their training! This is a huge milestone for CAMP and we want to celebrate with you by sharing a few photos. Before you check out the gallery below, I want to take this opportunity to thank Silver for being the heart, soul and brains behind this project as well as Dr. Magrate Kasaija for providing her expertise as a trainer.

You know who else I want to thank? You! A big thank you pant-hoot to everyone who donated and supported the CAMPaign so that this dream could become a reality. We’re honored to have you as part of the CAMP community. Don’t forget that you can find us on Facebook, Twitter and right here on the blog where you can always use the CAMP message center to drop us a line.

Best wishes,

-Doctor Deb and the CAMP Team

The clock has passed midnight! The CAMPaign is over and I am over the moon!

CAMP is more than 90% funded thanks to an amazing and generous community of people who decided to put compassion in action. Woohoo!
